L’Espace Sauvanie is an intimate music venue and artist residency in the Dordogne, South West France, bringing exceptional musicians together for unique collaborations and live performances.
We bring musicians together from different backgrounds and disciplines, giving them the time, space and, perhaps most importantly, the excuse to try something they might not otherwise have tried. Sometimes they arrive knowing exactly what they intend to do. Sometimes the interesting part is discovering that they were completely wrong. The results are shared in small, intimate concerts where the audience is close, the acoustics are exceptional and there is very little distance between the people making the music and the people listening to it.

A rather special place to make music …….
Set among mature gardens in the Dordogne countryside, our light-filled studio and concert space has exceptional natural acoustics and opens directly onto the terrace and gardens. In summer, indoors and outdoors become almost one space; in the cooler months, concerts become smaller, closer and wonderfully intimate.
Why we do it …….
The idea behind L’Espace Sauvanie is quite simple: bring interesting musicians together, give them an inspiring place to work and enough time to see what happens. Some collaborations begin here. Others develop here. And sometimes musicians who might never otherwise have shared a stage find themselves making something neither of them quite expected. We share the results through intimate concerts, residencies and collaborations throughout the year, bringing musicians and audiences together without very much getting in the way. What happens is rarely entirely predictable. Which is rather the point.
